Meet Lauren

Lauren Shin is the founder of Studio Norae, a space dedicated to supporting you in reconnecting with your inner wisdom, agency, and creative power.

Through weekly retreats and private sessions blending mindful movement, breath work, reflection, and clay-based creative expression, Lauren creates supportive conditions for people to slow down, listen inward, and make meaning through tangible creative practice. Her work serves individuals seeking deeper self-connection as well as individuals and communities navigating aging, cognitive change, and transition.

Grounded in experience across biology, aging services, yoga, expressive arts, and end-of-life care, Lauren brings both scientific perspective and a deep respect for human resilience at every stage of life. Studio Norae is built on the belief that living creatively is not a luxury or special talent—it is our birthright, and a pathway to living with greater presence, authenticity, and empowerment.

Norae (노래) means "song" in Korean. It represents the quiet inner music that emerges when we slow down enough to listen — our innate wisdom and guidance waiting to be heard.

Lauren holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and a Master's degree in Gerontology from University of Southern California. She is an INELDA-trained End-of-Life Doula, a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and Reiki Level II certified. Her ceramics practice spans over a decade.
